The Cup
A balanced, festive coffee that captures the warmth of the season. Expect a full, rounded body with cinnamon and ginger notes that linger like a Christmas dessert—comforting, familiar, and impossible to forget. This is holiday spirit in a cup.
The Blend
This special release combines two distinct components:
- 80% Recruitment Community Lot from Antioquia and Cauca
- 20% Sebastian Ramirez Cinnamon Coffee from Quindío
The Recruitment coffees provide structure and body, while Sebastian's cinnamon-infused lot adds festive complexity and spice. Together, they create something greater than the sum of their parts.
The Mission: Recruitment Young Producer Program
Recruitment isn't just a coffee program—it's a commitment to the next generation.
The mission is simple but profound: identify emerging young producers in Colombia's coffee regions and build sustainable demand for their single-origin lots. These aren't charity projects; they're partnerships with producers who have deliberately chosen coffee as their life's work, choosing passion over easier paths.
This Community Lot model brings together small producers contributing to a larger blend, guaranteeing quality, year-round availability, and a consistent profile. It's how we learn new stories, understand different challenges, and grow the program—one harvest, one producer, one relationship at a time.
By including Sebastian's experimental cinnamon coffee in this Holiday Blend, we're celebrating both tradition and innovation, bringing newer generations into the fold while honoring the season.
When you choose this blend, you're not just buying holiday coffee—you're recruiting the future of Colombian specialty coffee.
About the Farm: El Placer
Nestled in Quindío, El Placer has evolved from a sprawling 1980s coffee estate into something far more refined—a dedicated processing facility where precision meets tradition.
Sebastian has reimagined what a coffee farm can be. While half of the original estate still produces cherries, his true expertise lies in post-harvest processing and flavor development. He carefully selects cherries from the farm alongside premium varieties sourced from Huila, including sought-after Geisha and Pink Bourbon lots.
Every batch that passes through El Placer reflects Sebastian's meticulous approach to processing. He doesn't just handle coffee—he crafts flavor profiles, unlocking the unique characteristics hidden within each cherry.
Looking ahead, Sebastian has acquired new land dedicated to cultivating rare and exclusive varietals like Wush Wush and SL 28—varieties that demand specific conditions and expert care. This expansion represents his commitment to pushing the boundaries of what Colombian specialty coffee can achieve.
When you taste coffee from El Placer, you're experiencing the result of decades of knowledge, careful sourcing, and a relentless pursuit of quality.
